San Dimitri, the western most point of the island has a reef which is home to probably the largest shoal of Barracuda on the island, there are sometimes hundreds. The boat anchors on a pinnacle of the reef in between 6 - 9m of water, and the dive then descends over the edge in a series of terraces. This dive is best carried out between, about 25 - 30m, although can be carried out at any depth. Apart from the Barracuda it is possible to see large Grouper and Rays. The visibility here is often exceptional often reaching 40m. The end of the dive is back up the pinnacle and explore the plateau, which abounds with shoals of Salpe, Bream, and Wrasse. There are overhangs sheltering a myriad of Scorpion fish, cracks hiding Moray eels and Octopus, an excellent photographic part of the site.
