The boat anchors just inside the Ghasri valley, in about 8 - 10m and the dive starts by swimming up the headland (seaward) along the wall staying fairly shallow. You round a corner and the mouth of the cave is not always immediately obvious, but soon it appears. The top of the entrance is very shallow, and the bottom is at about 16m. You can swim into the entrance (a torch is not essential) there are sometimes small grouper in the nooks in the wall, the odd lobster, crab and all the usual small fish including Cardinal fish. It is possible to surface in the cave, which is open to the air through a small window in the headland. This dive is best done in the afternoon when the light is right and can be an amazing experience. The cave above water, is a huge dome shape and the walls are a reddish hue, the water glows an iridescent blue. Descending back down in the cave looking back towards the entrance is also a great view, then back along the wall looking for the smaller fauna that lives there. It is important to stay above 12m as you swim back, otherwise it is possible to miss the entrance to the Ghasri valley. Then back down the valley to the boat. If you have air left you can spend time exploring the valley, which is reputed to have seahorses, and watch the cuttlefish and octopus.
